NEW Fabric! [Jan. 19th, 2010|06:12 pm]
Forever in Black Sales

[mood |busybusy]

I have added a new colour option in the skull brocade to the deluxe corsets - GREEN!

I am also altering the way you order underbust corsets from the website - you give me your underbust, waist and hip measurements, and I go from there - a lot of people are unsure of sizing on corsets, and this is less daunting for them. If you have a specific waist size you want, just click 'custom' and specify the finished waist size in inches :)

I am still offering the skull brocade in black, purple, red, silver and blue, as well as the same colours in stunning cross brocade. As these are not coutil brocade, they are interfaced before being made up into a corset, lending them more durability.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask away!

I have now added a SALE page to the website. It's linked from the front page. I have a number of items reduced in price on the sale page, from samples to uncollected customer orders, all bargain items will go here. All postage is still free.

I am only doing two more stalls this year; at the Charnel House Christmas Party (details at http://www.thecharnelhouse.com) and at All About New Year's Eve on 31st December 2009 (details on http://www.allaboutnewyearseve.co.uk )

Please keep checking the SALE page - I am adding more items over the next week! I should also be adding some new items to the site itself.

[mood |busybusy]

It's been a funny old year, with the credit crunch and turning 40, but onwards and upwards! I shall be trading in the Leisure Centre at Whitby Gothic Weekend from Friday 30th October to Sunday 1st November 2009, then at Darkend Festival in Mansefield on 21st November 2009. I may have some more events to announce once confirmed, watch this space!

Due to popular demand, I am adding some Steampunk items to the site. This outfit features the new Victorian camisole, sleeves in cream lace, new collar and cuffs in bronze, a silk underbust, new long bloomers and a variant on the Can Can net skirt (one of my most popular items!) I am working out a way to add the one-off mini hats to the website, too.

By popular demand, hooded capes. There will be a huge choice of colours in velvet and linings. The one on the left is black with red lining; the one on the right is purple with black lining, although I have done combinations like purple and pink and green and silver in the past!

More steampunk! The 'Melanthe' capelet in cinammon silk, a NEW style of bustle, a NEW wench blouse (by popular demand!) and another limited edition corset fabric. The antique parasol is from my own collection.

Another new corset fabric, a stunning black coutil brocade with silver rosebuds all over. Shown with the Victorian camisole and long bloomers.

And finally, some pictures of the Memento Mori corset on a body, as a lot of people have asked.  Shown with a NEW short sleeved sheer blouse, and the shorter bloomers! The parasol is by Wicked Lady, Olivia's workmanship on these is exquisite!

I will be adding the new items to the website when time permits!

I still have a few available slots for Whitby orders, if you are interested please enquire!

New shots [Sep. 24th, 2008|09:38 pm]

'White Countess' bustle and shrug. During the Boxer rebellion, a member of the Russian aristocracy, Baroness Natalie Ivanoff, was trapped in the foreign legation compound in Peking. The Baroness had fallen on hard times, and was living with Major Matthew Lewis. Her nickname amongst the Chinese was 'The White Countess'. This blending of Russian, Victorian and Chinese silk is how she dresses in my imagination (although not how Ava Gardner dresses in the film '55 Days at Peking'!)

A better view of the 'Selene' bodice, as modelled by Katy. Selene is a fairy in Gilbert and Sullivan's operetta 'Iolanthe'.

A picture of the satin ruffled bustle skirt not modelled by Peggy, my vintage dressmaker's dummy, but by Katy :)

The 'Iolanthe' bodice (named after an operetta by Gilbert & Sullivan) and the 'Can Can' net skirt, modelled by Kathy.

Some of these items are already available on the website; I should be adding the 'White Countess' outfit later this week.

Photoshoot with a Tim Burton theme [Jun. 6th, 2008|10:18 pm]
Forever in Black Sales

Anyway, some preview shots from my Tim Burton themed shoot. I totally didn't expect the 'Corpse Bride' make-up, or the stylist to want to use EVERYTHING I took in one outfit. Kathryn from Asphodel may shout at me as I made some feathery collars and cuffs which look kind of like hers, I did only intend to make something for myself but as usual, I got such a positive response it looks like I will have to make some more....

Amy in striped skirt and Victorian blouse (names needed!) and plastic boned overbust, with feather collar and cuffs, mini top hat, and a loan of my Wicked Lady parasol (one of my most prized possessions!)

These were just some snaps I grabbed on my digital camera, I should have some more when the 'tog and make-up artist finish editing them :)
